RVS Englisch 02.03.11 Optimization of LPT – Open Line and Stops

The present Guidelines and Regulations for Roads (Richtlinien und Vorschriften für das Straßenwesen - RVS) are to be applied when planning, constructing and rebuilding roads used by public transport under Austria’s Road Traffic Code (Straßenverkehrsordnung – StVO) for the purpose of taking into account, speeding up and promoting local public transport (LPT) by trams and buses. This includes consistent compliance with barrier-free accessibility requirements. Distinction is made between open lines and stops, an open line under the present RVS meaning a section between two stops.
